About me

BACP logoI am a qualified and BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist with experience in working with ladies experiencing prenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, birth trauma and birth anxiety. I integrate key concepts from Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive & Behavioural therapeutic approaches enabling me to work effectively with clients experiencing a wide range of issues.

Zoe TolmanAs a Humanistic therapist, I believe that each and every human being is important and unique and I am keen to understand your world and your perspectives. Sometimes just being listened to and understood can help us feel less isolated.

At times the counselling process may feel quite challenging and it is by exploring these challenges that we can learn the most about ourselves. I will be there to support you throughout the counselling process until you feel you are ready to end our work together.

What to expect from counselling

My aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to 2016-05-17 (1)explore and work through things that might be difficult or challenging for you at the moment.

I work in a ‘client-led’ and non-directive way which means I will not give you advice or tell you what to do. I believe that you have the answers within yourself and I will work with you to help you find these answers.

Sessions will be treated with the strictest of confidence unless in certain circumstances, such as if I feel that you may be at risk of harm to yourself or others. We will discuss this in more detail in our initial session.

Our initial session will be about exploring what brings you to counselling, your expectations for the work we do together and together we can decide whether my approach is what you are looking for. If you feel that I may not be the most suitable therapist to work with you, I can provide details of alternative counselling professionals and agencies who can offer you support.
